Burleson Athletic Club was founded in 1995 by Oskar Jakobsson.
Oskar was he Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach at the University of Texas at Austin for 11 years. He was a two time Olympian, earning All-SWC and All-American honors while competing as a member of the Longhorn track and field team.
Oskar has a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education from UT-Austin and is certified by the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) and is also a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
He has many years of experience developing sports specific strength and conditioning programs as well as general health and wellness programs. During his time at UT, he helped develop programs for many All-SWC, All-American, and professional athletes. Burleson Athletic Club is managed by Tim Hicks. He is certified by the American Council on Exercise. A current competitive body builder, Tim graduated from Crowley High School and then attended Abilene Christian University where he studied Exercise Science. Tim has been a part of Burleson Athletic Club since the opening year and has great experience in total program development for athletes and those interested in overall health and fitness. Annette Hunt is the assistant manager for Burleson Athletic Club. She is a personal trainer with many years experience in health and fitness development. Annette's field of study has included fitness training, nutrition, and she has a special passion for children's health and wellness education. |
